Are you a non-profit or sales tax-exempt business?

Are you registered as a reseller?

If yes, then you will need to forward a copy of your state's resale certificate to Weissman, see contact details below.

Frequent Asked Questions

Q. Where can I get a tax-exempt/resale form?

A. Tax-exempt and resale forms are found on your state government’s website. Customer service can send you a W9 form if you require one.

Q. Will I be contacted when my tax-exempt form is going to expire?

A. Yes, you will receive an email notification 30 days before your current certificate expires and one email a week until expiration. After the certificate expires, we will no longer contact you.

Q. Will I know if my form was submitted without any issues?

A. We will contact you only in the event of missing or incomplete information.

Q. My business is outside the 50 U.S. states, do I need to submit anything?

A. At this time, this is only applicable to specific states in the U.S.

Q. My state doesn't collect sales tax, do I need to do anything?

A. It is still recommended that a tax-exempt/resale form be submitted to ensure that you are not charged sales tax on your orders.

Q. I have more questions specific to my business, who can I talk to?

A. For more information, please consult your accountant for advice that is specific to your business.

Q. What if dancewear items are not taxed in my state?

A. There are some states that fully or partially exempt clothing, footwear and accessories from state regulated sales tax. There are plenty of one-off exceptions and constant changes so the only way to remove sales tax from an account is to have an exemption or reseller certificate on file so that when an order is placed taxes will not be applied. The states who don't tax apparel (varies by purchase amount and category) are:

MA, MN, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT
